Handcrafted custom guitar pickups & faithful recreations of vintage PAF's. Each coil is wound one at a time with dedication, passion and the finest materials. When it comes to amazing guitar tone... the devil is in the details

Tone Devil Legacy PAF’s

The Tone Devil Legacy PAFs are inspired by the defining coil shapes and winds from the Gibson Golden Era of the late 50’s. Each set has been developed from testing, listening and crafting a PAF that captures the sonic mysticality and feel of the originals.

Spellbound

The Spellbound sets are based off early PAFs - a perfect marriage of low wind and unique coil shape. Shimmery, open and organic. Looser bottom end and softer pick attack, in turn creating luscious harmonic content and note bloom.

The Spellbound + has a similar wind in the bridge that accommodates more wire, increasing output without compromising the Spellbound tonal palette. A4/A5 is standard but also available in A2, A3, A4 or A5 in any configuration. (The A3 option comes with a matching coil shape of 8.0k in the neck)

For players that like more focus and definition in the neck - an Empyrean neck pickup is available upon request. Refer to the Empyrean set for details

Empyrean & Revelry

The Empyrean PAF’s are tonally inspired by the crème de la crème of 58’ era solid body and semi hollow / hollow body guitars from the Gibson factory in Kalamazoo. Featuring differing coil designs to the neck and bridge - the bridge wind retains some give in the pick attack while incorporating definition, tighter lows and clarity to the highs. The neck pickup, when compared to the Spellbound, has more focus and clarity - a great choice for players that require more definition over a more loose and open sound. If preferred, a Spellbound neck pickup is also available by request. (don’t be swayed by DC, the Spellbound actually has a touch more perceived output)

The Empyreans have the perfect amount of compression without feeling stiff or overly loose in the pick attack. With the volume & tone controls rolled off, the bridge has a wonderful chirpy quality. A4 is standard and the most versatile choice with its even EQ. Sparkly cleans, harmonic content, firm bottom end and a nice growl in the mid range are all present. These PAF’s are very interactive and seem to summon the best of your capabilities and inspire a vast palette of tonal expression. Available in A2, A4 or A5 in any configuration

The Revelry set is Inspired by the elite of PAF equipped guitars from the 59’ - 61’ Golden era of Gibson. This set pairs a Spellbound in the neck with an Empyrean bridge in 8.4k. For players that need that extra push in output , this is the set for you! The Revelry set comes standard with matching A5, but also available in A2, A4 or A5 in any configuration (an Empyrean neck wind in 8.3k can also be substituted upon request)

Tone Devil selection tips:
If you love the tone of Tom Bukovac’s 58’ Burst from ‘the Home Skoolin’ channel on YT or Doug’s 58’ Gold Top ‘Oscar’ from ‘The Doug & Pat Show’ - choose the standard Empyrean set. Both A4 & A5 work equally as well!

If you love the tone of the ‘MK Burst’ currently owned by Marcus King choose the standard Revelry set
